三游洞

The Sanyou Cave

      Located on Xiling hill of Xling Gorge in Hubei, the Sanyou cave is 6m high and 23m wide. With a long history, Early in Tang Dynasty three litterateurs arrived here and indited poem. After 240 years, three litterateurs in Song Dynasty came here and wrote poem. So it is called Sanyou(three visitors). A great deal of epigraphs and stone inscription here made the Sanyou Cave a famous tourist attraction.

      三游洞位于南津关的西陵山上，前临下牢溪。洞穴高6米，深宽各约23米。它历史悠久，早在唐元和14年，白居易、白行简、元稹来此，三人各赋诗一首，由白居易作《三游洞序》，三游洞因此而得名，此所谓前三游。240年后，著名文学家苏洵、苏轼、苏澈三人于北宋6年至此做诗，此谓后三游。洞中有大量历代的碑文石刻，山上有至喜亭、张飞擂鼓台等景点。
